Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about PromptUI — what it does, how it works, and how it compares.

What is PromptUI?

PromptUI is an AI build-to-growth platform. You describe what you want in plain English and PromptUI creates a working app with multiple files, a live preview, attached build evidence, publishing, and shared context for Growth Agent and launch media.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. PromptUI is designed for founders, designers, and non-technical builders. You describe what you want, and the AI writes every line of code. You can refine the app with follow-up prompts without touching the source.

How much does PromptUI cost?

PromptUI keeps three choices prominent: Free (75 one-time credits, no card required), Unlimited at $20/month founding pricing (app builds do not consume credits; 100 monthly credits cover publishing and other paid tools), and Launch Pro at $45/month (1500 credits and the stronger Builder, Guardian, and Growth Agent bundle). Starter, Pro, Team, and a standalone Growth Agent plan remain available for specialist needs. A default build costs 50 credits, with cheaper and premium model options available before you run.

Can I choose which AI model builds my app?

Yes, but you do not have to. PromptUI uses smart AI defaults by task and risk, with advanced model control available when you want to choose deliberately.

How long does it take to generate an app?

Generation time varies with scope, integrations, validation work, and the selected model. Simple ideas are usually faster, while complex products take longer because PromptUI plans, generates, checks, and repairs more of the application.

What kinds of apps can I build?

PromptUI supports 30+ app categories: CRM, dashboards, e-commerce, fitness trackers, booking systems, restaurant apps, real estate listings, invoice generators, project management tools, kanban boards, healthcare portals, education platforms, and many more. If it's a standard React app pattern, PromptUI can build it.

Can I edit the generated code?

Yes. You can view all generated files in the file explorer, export them, sync them to your own repo, and edit them in any code editor. The code belongs to you.

What happens if there are errors in the generated app?

If your preview hits a supported runtime error, PromptUI can attempt the first two runtime repairs on that project without an additional charge. Applicable automated checks report their evidence before handoff. Guardian monitoring and eligible repairs are included on Unlimited and Pro plans or higher.

Can I deploy and own the app?

Yes. You can publish through PromptUI or connect your own hosting account. You can also export the code and deployment setup into your own environment.

What is PromptUI Growth Agent?

PromptUI Growth Agent carries approved Brand Memory from your app or existing business into campaign briefs, posts, content calendars, visual assets, review, scheduling, supported publishing, and analytics. Brand Memory can include products, offers, audience, voice, goals, and source evidence—not only a logo or tagline. Growth Agent is included with Unlimited, Launch Pro, Team, and Enterprise, and is also available as a standalone subscription.

Does PromptUI automatically connect sign-in, databases, and other services?

Builder can generate provider-aware setup for supported sign-in, database, payment, email, upload, analytics, AI, and business services. The external service becomes live only after you connect valid credentials and verify the real behavior. Until then, a preview may use clearly labelled sample or local data.

Can I use PromptUI from Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor?

Yes. API-key connections work today through MCP, a shared tool standard. Your coding agent can build, check, list, and publish apps; plans with Growth Agent access can also create drafts, review the queue, publish approved posts, and read analytics. Credit-spending and outward publishing actions require confirmation.

Can Growth Agent run paid ads for me?

Growth Agent can already prepare brand-aware campaign material and supported social publishing. Native Meta paid-campaign submission is still completing Preview and external Meta proof, so PromptUI does not yet advertise it as a generally live capability. Advertising spend always remains separate in the business's own ad account.

How is PromptUI different from Lovable?

PromptUI is built for the full product path: visible proof, repair workflow, deployment handoff, launch workflow, and post-build media from one system instead of stopping at the first working codebase.

How is PromptUI different from Bolt.new?

PromptUI is designed around complete product delivery: build, validate, ship, and launch from one system instead of a chat-first code loop.

How is PromptUI different from component-first generators?

Component-first generators are great when you want isolated UI blocks. PromptUI is built for complete products: routing, data flows, business logic, multiple pages, launch workflow, and a path to ownership instead of just component previews.

How is PromptUI different from Cursor?

Cursor is an AI-enhanced editor for developers who want help inside a codebase. PromptUI is for founders and teams who want to go from idea to shipped product and launch assets without starting from scratch.

Can I share apps I build?

Yes. Every completed build gets a shareable public URL at /p/[id] with an auto-generated OG image. Those links are for direct sharing with your team, users, or customers. The Explore page is a separate curated showcase made from stable PromptUI showcase sessions, not an automatic listing of every shared user app.

Do credits roll over?

Yes. New subscription allowances are added to your existing balance, and cancellation keeps existing credits available until they are used.

Is the generated code commercial-use allowed?

Yes. All generated code belongs to you. PromptUI imposes no restrictions on commercial use of apps you build.

What is the refine mode?

After generation, you can type follow-up instructions to iterate on your app — "add a dark mode toggle", "replace the chart with a table", "make the header sticky". Each refinement reuses the existing codebase and only changes what you describe.

Does PromptUI support Next.js apps?

Yes — from a single page up to a full multi-page app. When your app needs sign-in and stored data, PromptUI can generate the client setup, sign-in hooks, and queries for supported providers. You then connect your own valid credentials. Until that live connection is verified, the preview can use clearly labelled local sample data so you can click through it.

How do I get started?

Go to promptui.co, sign in with Google or email, and type your first prompt. Free accounts get 75 one-time credits — enough to try 1–3 builds depending on the model you choose. No credit card required.
